This category of scholarship assistance is not tied to an identified emergency. Rather, it is designed to assist the above average student who seeks partial assistance with tuition. Scholarship amounts will be awarded up to $1,000.

DSUAA Emergency Need Scholarship Application

Emergency Need Scholarship - Application Requirements

This category of scholarship assistance is designated as emergency-based and results from an imminent need or hardship unexpectedly experienced by the student. Examples include but are not necessarily limited to sudden/prolonged unemployment, illness, incapacitation or death of a financially responsible parent or guardian, sudden hardship caused by a personal or environmental disaster, or unexpected loss of institutional financial assistance (i.e., grant, loan). Scholarship amounts will be awarded up to $1,000.

The Emergency Need Essay should address the following: Please provide a detailed explanation of the hardship you are experiencing. Describe how the assistance from the DSUAA will help resolve your hardship and what you will be able to accomplish by having this hardship resolved.
